Abstract: An electronic payment system helps a customer make a payment to a retailer or service provider electronically. Payment gateways, a portal between consumers and payment processors, use different authentication methods during online payment to secure a customer’s payment details, typically debit or credit card information. However, since a merchant already can access the payment information in any manner, the encryption offered by a payment gateway can not fully secure the client’s payment details. Not all merchants provide their customers with a safe payment system and stick to it while maintaining a standard payment policy. This also opens the payment information received by a customer to the possibility of being hacked or misused by retailers or stolen by hackers or spammers. In this work, we present a stable solution to payment processes in which payment information about a customer is secured. Upon authentication of the transaction, a client sends his contact details and authorization directly to a payment gateway submitting an invoice to the correct seller. Our research’s fundamental goal is part of the modernization of payment systems in Algeria.
