Abstract: A textbook is a classical material in learning, in addition to being the most influential. Thus, its content is important to be analyzed and evaluated from various perspectives. Hence, this study is another piece of writing to analyze the content of the textbook is important to be analyzed in values perspective. Thus, this study aims at identifying the representation of values in Algerian textbooks. Moreover, this paper aims to analyze the dissemination of human values and global values in the Algerian textbook of English language “New Prospects” directed to third year of secondary education students. For this end, data was gathered using two data collection methods; content analysis was performed using the third year of secondary education textbook of English “New Prospects”. Besides, a questionnaire administered to twenty-four teachers from different secondary schools in Tiaret and Frenda to survey their attitudes towards the suitability of the textbook in-use. The findings revealed that textbook has an impact on students and the progress they achieve in terms of their attitudes towards reading and analyzing human and global values-based content. Besides, a set of suggestions were provided by the high school teachers to update the textbook by integrating more human values content.
