| Résumé: | نسعى من خلال هذه الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على بعض الجوانب من مظاهر الحياة الاجتماعية، والثقافية للجزائريين الذين كانوا يقطنون في الحواضر الكبرى في القرن الثامن عشر الميلادي، سنعتمد في البحث على ما كتبه الرحالة البريطاني القس توماس شو الذي أقام في مدينة الجزائر مدة اثنا عشر سنة، زار خلالها كثيرا من المدن الجزائرية. يعتبر توماس شو شاهد عيان لواقع المجتمع الجزائري في العهد العثماني، ومصدرا رئيسيا للمعلومات التي يقدمها حول نظام التعليم، وأشكال العمران، وذهنية المجتمع الجزائري، وبعض الجوانب من الحياة اليومية للأسر الجزائرية؛ سنحاول إبراز قيمة المعلومات التي قدمها القس توماس شو وتحليلها ونقدها ومقارنتها ببعض الرحلات الأوربية التي زار أصحابها البلاد. |
| Description: | This study seeks to shed light on some aspects of the social and cultural life of the Algerians who lived in the major metropolises during the eighteenth-century AD, based on what was written by the British traveler Thomas Shaw, who resided in the city of Algiers for twelve years, during which he visited many of the Algerian cities. He is considered an eyewitness, and a major source of information he provides about the education system, forms of urbanization, the mentality of Algerian society, and some aspects of the daily life of Algerian families. |
