The general administration, in its practice of administrative control in urban planning, aims to protect the public interest associated with urban development in a preventive manner. This protection is achieved through the application of legal restrictions related to granting building permits and conformity certificates. Mosques, like any other architectural structure, are subject to these regulatory guidelines, which are supposed to enhance the functional and aesthetic aspects of the mosque within its urban environment, in accordance with its unique design and construction requirements as a public institution. Therefore, this study aims to examine the legal regulations and restrictions imposed by Algerian legislation on mosque architecture, specifically the legal conditions outlined in Executive Decree No. 13-377, which encompasses the fundamental law of mosques. Additionally, it addresses certain conditions stipulated in Law No. 04-05 concerning urban planning and developmenten_US
