Description: The study aimed to find out the role of residents of marginal neighborhoods in the spread of the phenomenon of irregular transportation (farud). The study started from the problem of “What made residents of marginal neighborhoods depend on informal transportation?” The study was applied to a sample of 100 individuals from the Shooting Field neighborhood. We used the questionnaire tool relying on the interview, while the descriptive approach was used in the study as the appropriate approach to the study. The study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are: -The lack of formal transportation in marginal neighborhoods is related to the dependence of the residents of these neighborhoods on informal transportation and its increase in its spread. -The more positive the relationship between residents of marginal neighborhoods and those involved in informal transportation, the more widespread informal transportation becomes. -It is clear that trust between residents of marginal neighborhoods and informal transportation professionals plays a pivotal role in choosing these professionals to meet their transportation needs. This is clearly evident in the hypotheses and tables discussed, as it turns out that the majority prefer to rely on transportation professionals whom they trust. -Many residents of marginal neighborhoods are looking for affordable transportation options, which pushes them towards using informal transportation which is usually considered cheaper than regular alternatives
