Abstract: The research at hand aims to explore the correlation between literature teaching and critical thinking. Therefore, it seeks to examine whether literature courses are helping to improve EFL learners’ critical thinking skills. In order to carry out this study a mixed method between quantitative and qualitative approach is undertaken. To validate or invalidate our hypotheses, we opted for a triangulation of data collection tools including a questionnaire for 3rd year EFL learnersan interview for literature teachers. The sample contains of (50) students and (7) teachers of literature. The data collected are analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively using pie charts, tables, graphs…etc. The findings show that literature is a big factor for developing critical thinking skills for EFL learners since it is given much importance. The study reveals some suggestions and recommendations for teachers and future research to be taken into consideration as a matter of inquiry.
