The aim of this research study is to investigate the extent to which parents are involved in their children’s education in exam classes, particularly the Certificate of Middle School Education. In this respect, the study endeavours to scrutinize the support that the parents provide at the psychological, mental, financial and academic support throughout the school year in order to encourage and boost their children’s performance when preparing for their final exam. The study took place in two different areas and middle schools, the first one was in rural area, and the second was in an urban one. Pupils, parents, and five teachers took part in this case study. Both groups, the pupils and their parents filled in an attitudinal questionnaire about the degrees of parental involvement. For teachers, they were meant to answer an interview. The obtained results prove that parents in urban areas are more involved compared to parents in rural areas. The findings are attributed to two variables, the first is geography and the second one is the availability of resources and socio economical status of parents in both settings. No disparity is identified at the level of home work assistance, time management at home and parental aspirations for children’s future education.en_US
