Abstract: This thesis comprehensively explores the intricate and multifaceted relationship between gender and literary translation. It examines how male and female learners translate literary texts through a survey translated by five students of each gender and a questionnaire administered to 25 female and 25 male third-year EFL students, this study investigates the potential impact of gender on various aspects of translation, including strategies and perceptions of gender dynamics in translation. The findings from this survey reveal discernible gender-related differences in translation approaches, with female translators tending to emphasize emotional and relational aspects, while their male counterparts prioritize the preservation of narrative flow and structural coherence in their translated works. These nuanced distinctions in approach significantly shape translation styles, influencing the degree of cultural accuracy and the conveyance of subtle nuances in translated texts. Moreover, this research extends its investigation to the realm of gender-related themes, characters, and language in translations, revealing that female translators exhibit a heightened awareness of gender dynamics and nuances, while male translators occasionally introduce unintentional alterations that impact the original gender-related content. Overall, this study makes a valuable contribution to the field of translation studies, enriching our understanding of the complex interplay between gender and literary translation, and emphasizing the importance of gender in the translation process for both practitioners and theorists
