Abstract: The use of social media has met a rapid growth among the few past decades. Social media is the most important product of the development of computer and communication technologies that affect social life, social media has become a driving force in social and cultural development, while providing social contact for people.Recently, the way languages are learned has been greatly influenced by technology, both learners and professors are exposed to the internet daily, so they can take advantages and disadvantages of it to teach and learn a foreign language.The aim of this study is to analyze and evaluate the impact of using social media on learning foreign languages in educational operation , using a quantitative method , this study includes a total of 40 participants as a sample , 20 participants were students and 20 participants were teachers at Ibn khaldoun University of Tiaret.The instrument for data collection was questionnaire, the result obtained show that most of students and teachers use s ocial media for many reason mainly for educational purposes, Additionally, it revealed that m ost of them consider that the impact of using social media on learning foreign languages has both positive and negative.
