Abstract: The present work aims to investigate how Algerian speech community perceives the implementation of Tamazight in education, although it is officialised by the Algerian constitution. To be objective and precise, the study is allocated to know whether they have positive or negative perspectives about Tamazight because attitudes towards a language influence the attitudes toward teaching this language. This work is founded on questionnaire administered to 87 participants, who are Berbers and Arabs. In addition, a structure interview for both Berbers and Arabs. The interpreted findings show that the Algerian speech community attitudes vary between positive and negative toward implementing Tamazight in Algerian schools. However, those who hold negative attitudes are outnumber to those who show positive attitudes. The findings disclosed that there is an ethnic impulse beyond their answers.
