| Résumé: | يعد النقش Ja 702 (أو MaMB 145) من نقوش الاعتراف الذي عثر عليها في معبد أوام/محرم بلقيس. وقد كُتب في عشرين سطراً، إلا أن قراءات الباحثين لمحتواه كانت متباينة، والسبب في ذلك يعود إلى صعوبة ألفاظه، وعدم حصولهم على صورة فوتوغرافية له، فالمرجع الوحيد الذي وثقه كان هو كتاب ألبرت جام. لاحقاً، قام ريكمانز بتصحيح بعض الحروف، وقدم قراءة مختلفة، ثم أورد بيتر شتاين هذا النقش في مقالته عن الأحلام والمنامات في اليمن القديم، بسبب ورود كلمة "حولم" في السطر 16. في هذا المقالة أقدم قراءة جديدة معتمداً تصحيح ريكمانز للحروف، مع تقديم تفسير جديد لمفردة "حولم"، وعلاقتها المُحتملة بطقس النوم في المعابد، والمعروف باسم الحالومة |
| Description: | (Incubation). The inscription Ja 702 (or MaMB 145) belongs to the confession inscriptions found in the Temple of Awam/Maḥram Bilqīs. Consisting of twenty lines, it has led to disparate variant readings from different researchers, owing primarily to the difficulty of its vocabulary, and the unavailability of a suitable photographic image of it, as it was documented by Albert Jamme alone. Later, Rickmans attempted to correct some letters in order to provide a new variant reading, then Peter Stein included this reading in his article on dreams and visions in pre-Islamic Yemen, due to the occurence of "ḥwlm" in line no. 16. In this article, I propose a new reading based on Rickmans' correction of the letters, while adducing a new explanation for the word "ḥwlm", and its possible relation to the ritual of sleeping in temples, also known as incubation. |
