Résumé: | Our study refers to a total of 50 cows, in which 30 cows are Zebu Azawak breeds from Niger and 20 others are black and white cows from Algeria, composed of primiparous and multiparous cows. Our goal consists to provide an overview of practical techniques for synchronization and AI (Artificial Insemination) in Niger and Algeria through a comparative study of two results obtained, and also show the importance of control of reproduction in the bovine AI industry. Cows from Niger, which the majority had an oetrous cycle, received a treatment of synchronization of oestrus based on use of PGF2α by two injections made at the interval of eleven (11) days with a dose of 2 ml. Also 72 hours after the treatment, the IA was performed at the interval of one day. The cows from Algeria, in which some were in anoestrus period received a treatment with the PGF2α, the PRID and the PMSG in order to induce and synchronize the oetrous cycle and these cows represent the batch No. 1 and 2, whereas the cows from the batch No. 3 got a natural oetrous cycle, so that they didn’t undergone any induction treatment. Those cows were inseminated once 56 hours after injection of the PMSG. The results obtained in Algeria during the synchronization were significantly higher than those obtained in Niger, with respective rates of 85% and 36%. Pregnancy rate in both cases remains low by 20% and 30% respectively. Environmental, technical, zootechnical, and climate parameters have greatly influenced our results. It is important to mention the improvement provided by these treatments, despite some obstacles, the PRID is particularly an efficient way of controlling the sexual cycle in cattle. |
