| Résumé: | عرف الغرب الإسلامي خلال العصر الوسيط تطورًا ملحوظًا في الفكر الجغرافي، نتيجة التفاعل العلمي والثقافي مع المشرق الإسلامي ومع الحضارات السابقة. وقد جاء هذا التطور نتيجة مسار معرفي بدأ بتأثر المسلمين بالجغرافيا عند الحضارات القديمة، خاصة اليونانية، ثم ما لبث أن تطوّر ضمن سياق النهضة العلمية التي شهدها الغرب الإسلامي، والتي تميّزت بتعدد مراكز العلم وظهور عدد من العلماء البارزين. وفي الوقت نفسه، شهد المشرق الإسلامي بدوره تطورًا في علم الجغرافيا، ما ساعد على تبادل التأثيرات بين شقي العالم الإسلامي. غير أن ما يميز الغرب الإسلامي هو خصوصية إسهاماته الجغرافية التي جمعت بين الوصف الدقيق، والرحلة الميدانية، والرسم الخرائطي، كما يظهر في أعمال الإدريسي، وابن بطوطة، والحسن الوزان |
| Description: | During the medieval period, the Islamic West experienced significant development in geographical thought, as a result of scientific and cultural interaction with the Islamic East and earlier civilizations. This evolution stemmed from a knowledge trajectory that began with Muslims being influenced by the geography of ancient civilizations, especially the Greeks. It later advanced within the context of the scientific renaissance that took place in the Islamic West, marked by the multiplicity of scientific centers and the emergence of prominent scholars. At the same time, the Islamic East also witnessed progress in the field of geography, which facilitated the exchange of influences between the two parts of the Islamic world. What distinguishes the Islamic West, however, is the uniqueness of its geographical contributions, which combined detailed description, field travel, and cartographic representation-as seen in the works of al-Idrisi, Ibn Battuta, and al-Hasan al-Wazzan. |
