Currently, many studies aim to develop medical equipment to facilitate the treatment of various diseases. Among these diseases, chronic diabetes is particularly burdensome for patients due to the continuous insulin injections required throughout the day to regulate blood sugar, or more precisely, glucose levels in the blood. Traditional methods have been updated with easier and more comfortable techniques for patients, one of which is the automatic insulin pump addressed in this work. This master thesis aims to explore the control mechanisms and operational dynamics of insulin pumps. Insulin pumps are vital devices for the treatment of diabetes, providing continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion to maintain optimal glucose levels in patients. The study offers a comprehensive overview of the components of insulin pumps, including the DC motor, speed reducer, screw and nut mechanism, and the piston-cylinder assembly, along with their mathematical modeling. The goal is to monitor and regulate blood glucose concentration. The successful integration of these control mechanisms demonstrates the potential to improve the performance of insulin pumps, contributing to better patient outcomes..en_US
