| Résumé: | La reproduction équine demande une rigueur importante dans la gestion de la jument afin de remplir l’objectif d’obtenir un poulain par an et le plus tôt dans l’année. Il est alors essentiel de maîtriser un maximum de facteurs influençant la fertilité. Le vétérinaire doit être capable de réaliser un suivi gynécologique à chaque moment clé au cours de la vie reproductrice de la jument afin de dépister les affections pouvant altérer les performances de reproduction et les traiter rapidement, de connaitre le moment optimal pour inséminer la jument, puis de diagnostiquer la gestation et d’en suivre son bon déroulement. Le vétérinaire doit aussi être capable de conseiller au mieux l’éleveur sur la gestion de la jument en ce qui concerne son alimentation et son environnement, pour optimiser la fertilité de la jument, l’amener en bonne santé à la reproduction et maintenir sa gestation. |
| Description: | Equine reproduction requires a great deal of rigor in the management of the mare in order to fulfill the objective of obtaining a foal per year and at the earliest in the year. It is therefore essential to control a maximum of factors influencing fertility. The veterinarian must be able to perform gynecological monitoring at each key moment during the reproductive life of the mare in order to detect the conditions that can alter reproductive performance and treat quickly, to know the optimal time to inseminate the mare, then to diagnose pregnancy and to monitor its progress. The veterinarian must also be able to advise the breeder as much as possible on the management of the mare with regard to its diet and environment, to optimize the mare's fertility, to bring it in good health for reproduction and to maintain its gestation. |
