| Résumé: | تعتبر جزيرة صقلية من أهم المناطق التي جلبت انتباه الشعوب الشرقية، حيث توافد عليها التجار الفينيقيون والإغريق و أسسوا فيها عدة مستوطنات. غير انه بعد ضعف فينيقيا استغلت قرطاجة ذلك الوضع وتزعمت جميع المستوطنات الفينيقية. وباصطدام الوجود القرطاجي مع الوجود الإغريقي وسعي كلا الطرفان لفرض سيطرتهما على جزيرة صقلية تحتم الصدام المسلح بينهما، فدارت عدة معارك بينهما أهمها معركة هيميرا سنة 480 ق. م. والتي شكلت أبرز مراحل التوتر والصراع بينهما. فأنهك ذلك الصراع القرطاجي الإغريقي قوة قرطاجة العسكرية في صقلية مسهلا على روما مباغتة قرطاجة والاستيلاء على جزيرة صقلية سنة 241 ق. م. ، وعرف ذلك الصراع بين قرطاجة وروما حول الجزيرة بالحرب البونية الأولى والتي امتدت من سنة 264 ق.م. إلى سنة 241 ق. م. |
| Description: | The island of Sicily was at the forefront of the important regions that drew the attention of the peoples of the Near East. Phoenician and Greek merchants flocked to it and established several settlements there. But after the weakness of Phoenicia, Carthage took advantage of that situation and took control of all the Phoenician settlements. the clash of the Carthaginian presence with that of the Greeks and the desire of both sides to impose their control on the island of Sicily led to several battles. The most important of was the Battle of Himera in 480 B.C., which constituted the most prominent stages of tension and conflict between them. the Graeco -Carthaginian conflict in Sicily had facilitated Rome's conquest of Carthage and the domination of that island in 241 B.C. This conflict between Carthage and Rome was known as the First Punic War, which lasted from 264 B.C. to 241 B.C. |
