dc.description.abstractThis study attempts to examine the content of the third-year textbook "New Prospects" in Algerian secondary schools. Its goal is to look into the English cultural elements of the textbook to check out if students are exposed to the target culture. Furthermore, the research looks into how culture is portrayed in the content of "New Prospects", how it is characterized, and whether or not this textbook helps students become more aware of the target culture. It also aims to see if the content is sufficient to develop learners' intercultural competence toward learning a foreign culture and toward people from the target culture in such a way that they reinforce positive attitudes such as toleration, appreciation, empathy, and flexibility. In order to answer the research questions, a textbook evaluation is conducted.en_US
