dc.description	In the 19th century, the Arab and Islamic world witnessed Western colonial campaigns. Among these campaigns was the French occupation of Algeria, which is considered part of a long series of occupations that affected the Maghreb region in general and Algeria in particular, hindering its progress and development. As a result of these practices, popular resistance movements emerged. One of the most prominent historical figures in Algeria who resisted the French occupation was Emir Abd al-Qadir. He made Algeria’s glory in his battle against the occupation for nearly 57 years (1833- 1847). During his struggle against colonial expansion, the Emir faced challenges from opposing tribes that hindered his progress towards victory, as they considered him an enemy threatening their influence and privileges. Consequently, these tribes formed alliances with France, which promised to protect their interests and status. The Emir’s task was complicated in trying to convince these factions of the necessity of unity and jihad against the common enemy.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	في القرن التاسع عشر ،شهد العالم العربي والإسلامي حملات غستعمارية غربية ومن بين هذه الحملات كانت احتلال فرنسا للجزائر التي تعتبر جزءا من سللة من الإحتلالات التي أثرت على المغرب العربي بشكل عام وعلى الجزائر بشكل خاص وقد أعاقت تقدمها الحضاري نتيجة لهذه الممارسات ظهرت حركات المقاومة الشعبية ، وكان من ابرز الشخصيات التاريخية في الجزائر التي قومت افحتلال الفرنسي الأمير عبد القادر الذي صنع امجاد الجزائر في معركته ضد افحتلال لمدة تقارب 15 عاما ، وخلال الكفاح ضد التوسع الإستعماري واجه الأمير تحديات من القبائل المعارضة التي عرقلت تقدمه نحو النصر ،حيث اعتبرته عدوا يهدد نفوذها و إمتيازاتها ، وبالتالي تحالفت هذه القبائل مع فرنسا التي وعدتها بحماية مصالحها ومكانته ، وتعقدت مهمة الأمير عبد القادرفي محاولة إقناع هذه الفئات بضرورة توحيد الصف والجهاد ضد العدو المشترك.	en_US
