Résumé: This research work attempts to investigate reading fluency among university students. The study intends, on the one hand, to determine the main obstacles that impede students’ reading fluency, on the other hand, to help them overcome their weaknesses towards reading by providing them with different techniques and strategies. 65 university students were selected from different levels as a sample. The present dissertation is based on students’ questionnaire and an interview for teachers at the section of English at university of Ibn Khaldoun in Tiaret. The results of the study show that most of the teachers and learners believe that reading fluency depends on equipping the students with effective reading techniques, motivating, and encouraging them to read. Through this study students may care more about their reading level as well as they may find their path to become fluent readers.
