Description: The symbol is one of the concepts that preoccupied the scholars, as it is a means that enables a person to express his thoughts and feelings in an indirect way and gives him a wide horizon to express his opinions and positions freely. So what is a symbol ,and what is the impact of using it in literary creativity in general and poetry in particular? Our research aims to clarify the concept of the symbol and its impact on highlighting the aesthetics of the literary text and its semantic power. In this work, we dealt with the the definition of the symbol, trying to explain its concept to a group of researchers, then we looked at the symbolist school and its origins in Western and Arabic literature, . Description: The Algerian folk proverb preserved the constants of national identity, religious belief and societal values, and it still preserves through the circulation of its utterance and transmission on popular tongues, as its validity remained alive and continuous at every time and place and in agreement with the developments of the era and the facts of time, and this is due to the strength of its love and the aesthetic of its casting and the shortness of its text. The one who says it can be brief and short to send a message to the recipient, encompassing the meaning, hitting the core of the content, and indicating a high level. The question arises, how can we explain the expressive power of the popular proverb?
